Welcome to www.herengracht21.nl,
This unique house nestled in the heart of Amsterdam's main canals, was
bought thirty years ago by Ton van der Stap and Loes Olden. Situated
on one of the most peaceful and rustic parts of the Herengracht it
lies within five minutes walking distance Central Station. This 17th
Century canal house was taken back to its original state and has now
been converted into a boutique bed and breakfast.
The first room is the Canal Room. Located at the front of the house,
it has an uninterupted view over the canal. The second room is at the
back house, and is a duplex with a small living room on one level and
a bedroom above. It is both bright and spacious. Both rooms are
located in the seventeeth century old canalhouse.
The house is furnished with a contemporary art collection by Amsterdam
artists. Many pieces are created by artists from the neighborhood.
The 'styleroom' is located on the ground level of the back-house,
where breakfast is served every morning with fresh and warm bread
rolls, fresh juice and a newspaper that can be made available from 8am
onwards.
In front of the house lies an old missionary boat from 1922. When the
weather permits, a tour of the canals might be offered that day, since
nothing is more beautiful than admiring the authentic canal houses
from the waterside.
